Dr. Eleni Papathanasopoulou is Assistant Professor of Economics in the School of Business and Economics at The American College of Greece. She teaches Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, and Economics of Everyday Life. She leads the Environmental and Resource Economics course (in the School of Business and Economics) and the Economy and the Environment course (in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences).
Eleni’s research interests lie in integrating economic and environmental elements into macroeconomic modeling to identify pathways for achieving sustainable development goals. She has published extensively in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, contributed to a UK Parliament POSTnote on Fisheries, co-authored an IAEA workshop report on Ocean Acidification, and acted as an expert reviewer for the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.
