Dr. Symeon Siomopoulos holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Athens, an MSc degree in both Sport Psychology and Sport Organization from Miami University of Ohio, and a degree in Physical Education with a tennis specialization from the University of Athens. A former nationally ranked tennis player in Greece, he founded and led the Deree Tennis Academy from 2011 to 2021. Since 2019, he has educated over 1,000 Chinese tennis coaches on the psychological aspects of the sport. His scholarly work includes publications in the Greek Journal of Sport Psychology and presentations at numerous conferences on the psychology of various sports, including tennis, sailing, swimming, diving, karate, and soccer. He has consulted as a sport psychologist and coach for professional tennis players and athletes in other sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and windsurfing. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Deree, teaching courses in Sport Psychology, Sport Pedagogy, Sport Coaching, Strength and Conditioning, and the two introductory courses of General Psychology.
