Dr. Georgia Dima has been a member of the Deree Department of English and Modern Languages faculty since 1990. She has been serving as Coordinator of the Modern Languages Area since 2021. She teaches French, Business French and Greek as foreign languages. From 2014 to 2022, she taught French, as a second foreign language, at Pierce College. Georgia Dima received her PhD in Language Sciences – Computational Linguistics with highest distinction from the University of Sorbonne Paris XIII in France. Her research interests include a semantic and syntactic analysis in causal phrases in French for further development into electronic media. She is also a holder of a Master of Science (D.E.A.) in Linguistics and Language Teaching, with a particular focus on “The Role of the Mother Tongue in Foreign Language Teaching,” from the University of Stendhal Grenoble III in France.
