Dr. Pardalis has been a member of the Department of Sociology since 2016. He teaches courses in the area of Socio-cultural Anthropology. He carries out research in Sicily (Italy) on identity, social networks and cultural change. His research interests include cross-cultural studies in the Mediterranean, ethnic and national identity building processes, family, religion, European politics, immigration, human rights, development, and sustainability. He has combined teaching at the University of Thessaly with anthropological research on biodiversity in cooperation with Marine Biologists. 

He has been trained in lifelong learning teaching methods at Durham University (UK), and KEMEA (GR). He has worked for the Ministry of Education in the selection of teaching staff for the Second Chance Schools. He is a seasoned professional in adult education, with extensive experience in applying anthropological knowledge to societal challenges. His research is fueled by a deep appreciation for human diversity and the natural environment.
