ACG Honored for its Long-standing Support of EMFASIS at 13-Year Anniversary Event

On November 13, 2025, representatives from The American College of Greece had the pleasure of attending “An Evening Together”, the anniversary event organized by the non-profit organization EMFASIS to celebrate its 13 years of dedicated work in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and social exclusion as well as serving as a gesture of appreciation to all those who have supported  EMFASIS’ vital contribution to society.

The evening brought together the organization’s collaborators, supporters, sponsors, and volunteers who have stood alongside EMFASIS since 2013, all of whom were honored with symbolic awards in recognition of their support.

As a supporter of EMFASIS since the very beginning, ACG was among the honorees for its continuous commitment to the organization’s mission. Rania Assariotaki, Director, Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs, accepted the award on behalf of the College together with the President of the Graduate Students Association, Pinelopi Tsiopou.

“We are deeply honored that The American College of Greece has been recognized for its long-standing support of EMFASIS. Beyond the in-kind and financial contributions, what truly moves us is the opportunity to stand alongside an organization whose passion, integrity, and humanity are evident in every action. EMFASIS delivers remarkable, impactful care to people experiencing homelessness, offering dignity and hope. This recognition is not simply an award—it is a reminder of why this collaboration means so much to us and why we remain committed to supporting initiatives that foster compassion and meaningful social change”, shares Rania Assariotaki, Director, Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs.

Over the years, ACG has supported EMFASIS through financial contributions derived from donations from ACG Community members, from the ACG reusable products (water bottles, beverage mug, etc.), and various donation drives such as the Food Drive organized in the Spring Semester 2025 by the Deree Graduate Student Association and the Office of Sustainability – Public Affairs.

A special highlight of the evening was the exhibition of the collaborative artwork created by Deree students earlier in November as part of an interdisciplinary and community-centered workshop exploring the meaning of shelter and safe space. Connecting creativity, social awareness, and sustainability, the piece offered a visual reminder of the empathy, collaboration, and reflection that emerged during the workshop. a
