About the event
Professor Dimitris Malliaropoulos (University of Piraeus and Bank of Greece) will deliver a lecture on The Monetary Policy of the European Central Bank, discussing key challenges and developments in ECB policy informed by his academic work and experience at leading central banks.
About the speaker

Dimitris Malliaropulos
Professor of Finance at the Department of Banking and Financial Management, University of Piraeus and economic advisor at the Bank of Greece
He has worked in the past as a chief economist and director of economic analysis and research at the Bank of Greece, as an economist at the Deutsche Bundesbank, the National Bank of Greece and Eurobank and as a quantitative consultant at Invesco Asset Management, UK. He has also served as a member of various high-level committees of the OECD, the Eurosystem and the European Banking Federation. He holds a PhD in economics from the Freie Universität Berlin and has taught economics and finance at Brunel University, London Metropolitan University and Freie Universität Berlin. His academic research focuses on asset pricing, banking, financial intermediation, empirical finance, international economics and applied macro.
