About the speaker

Georgios Mavreas, BA Psychology, MSc (Hons) Health Psychology
George Mavreas holds a multidisciplinary academic background, beginning his studies in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry before completing a Bachelor’s in Psychology at Deree College. He went on to earn his Master’s in Health Psychology from the University of the West of England (Bristol).

During his time in the UK, George worked extensively within Bristol’s mental health services, delivering CBT psychotherapy and conducting psychoeducational lectures for both clinical services and academic populations. Now based in Athens, he is a clinician at PNOES Ath, one of Greece’s first Early Intervention Units for the First Episode of Psychosis.

George is currently furthering his clinical expertise through CBT psychotherapeutic training with the Company for the Cognitive-Behavioral Studies (ΕΓΣΣ). While his core clinical focus is on Psychosis and Schizophrenia, he is also pioneering the use of Virtual Reality as a tool for de-stigmatization and for deepening the understanding of the lived experience of a psychotic episode.
