Dr. Panagiotis Kourtesis is a distinguished VR/XR neuroscientist, human-computer interaction researcher, and software developer with extensive experience in Greece, France, and the United Kingdom. He holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology & Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh. He has post-doctoral research experience at the National Research Institute of Computer Science and Automation (INRIA) in France. Currently, Dr. Kourtesis is an Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology, the head of the Psychology Network Lab (PsyNetLab) at Deree-The American College of Greece (ACG), and the Team Lead of the Neuro-HCI XR Research Team at the ACG Research Centre. He is also a Senior Researcher at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Visitor Academic at the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the application of VR/AR/XR technologies in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, utilizing advanced tools like eye-tracking systems, EEG, ECG, and GSR. His expertise includes VR/XR software development, HCI, experimental psychology, statistical analysis, and cognitive neuroscience. Dr. Kourtesis has secured substantial research funding, published widely, and presented at major international conferences. His dedication to mentoring and interdisciplinary collaboration drives his innovative work in enhancing human-computer interactions through immersive technologies.
