Evgenia Vagianou holds a BSc from ACG in Computer Information Systems, an MSc from the University of Edinburgh in Knowledge-Based Systems: Expert Systems, and is a PhD researcher at the Department of Computer Science, University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Her recent research interests focus on Trust of AI-enabled systems and blockchain implementations. In parallel, she is conducting research on cross-disciplinary IT integration, especially in education and academic administration. Amongothers, she is currently participating in an Erasmus+ project as senior researcher. Professor Vagianou has served as the department head (DH) of the Information Technology department, DH of the former CIS, Director of Academic Computing, Blackboard Administrator, and led several in-house projects. In 2010, she led the introduction of the IT program at Deree and preceded its redesign in 2021. In 2020, she chaired the design of the BSc in Cybersecurity and Networks. In 2023, she chaired the revision of the design and development of the BSc in Computer Science. She has extensive experience in software engineering & development, project management, curriculum design, and mentoring.
