Eleni Drakaki received her BA in History and Archaeology from the University of Crete (1996), Greece and her PhD in Archaeology and Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, USA (2008).  For three years, she was the recipient of the Hagop Kevorkian Curatorial Fellowship at the Department of Ancient Near Eastern Art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (2001-2002; 2007-2008), while she also served in the same department as the Hagop Kevorkian Research Associate (2010-2011).

Her research interests focus on the Aegean Bronze Age, specifically on the fields of iconography, glyptic production and ownership, and funerary customs on the Mycenaean Greek Mainland, as well as the cultural interconnections in the wider Mediterranean region, particularly during the 2nd millennium B.C. She has participated in numerous archaeological projects (surveys, excavations) and international archaeological conferences. She has two peer-reviewed articles published in journals and four more forthcoming peer-reviewed publications, including papers presented at international conferences with an expected publication date of 2024-2025.
