Anna Nikolaou

Dr. Anna Nikolaou is a sociologist with research expertise in cross-border identities, collective memory, political violence, and cultural trauma. She holds a PhD in Sociology and an MA in Sociological Research from the University of Essex, and a BA in Sociology from The American College of Greece. Her work bridges qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including oral history, discourse analysis, and survey research. Since 2014, she has taught at Hellenic American University, offering courses in research methods and statistics in the Psychology program, as well as in General Education. She has supervised graduate theses and undergraduate capstone projects, emphasizing research design, data analysis, and academic writing. From 1997 to 2009, she held research roles at the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) and participated in EU- and nationally funded projects on child poverty, migration, gender equality, and political behavior. She has published book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and presented her work at international conferences.
