About the event

Teaching reading to English language learners with dyslexia requires specialized, explicit instruction. In this talk, we will outline effective reading interventions derived from evidence- based approaches for both ENL and ESL/EFL readers. We will examine Structured Literacy frameworks that utilize multi-sensory methods – engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways – to improve decoding and word recognition. Furthermore, the session will review adaptations of Orton Gillingham based approaches designed to build foundational literacy skills and boost confidence in struggling readers.
