About the event:
This event features two experts from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Dr. Andriopoulou and Dr. Gavroglou, who will present the mechanism of labour market diagnosis and explain how it can be used as career guidance. The mechanism is based on recording, analysis, and visualization of current labour market needs in occupations and skills in relation to the skills offered by the workforce.
The event is free and is open ACG students, faculty and staff.

About the speakers
Dr. Eirini Andriopoulou
Head of the Unit of Experts in Employment, Social Insurance, Welfare & Social Affairs (M.E.K.Y.) of the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
Eirini Andriopoulou is an economist specialized in labour economics, applied microeconomic analysis and public policy making. Currently, she serves as the Head of the Unit of Experts in Employment, Social Insurance, Welfare and Social Affairs (M.E.K.Y.) in Greece. She has been appointed national delegate at committees of the EU and international organizations such as the Ageing Working Group, the Working Group on Pension Adequacy, the EFC Sub-Committee on Statistics, and the Economic Policy Committee. She is experienced in the design and implementation of various public policies, in fiscal and distributional impact analysis, as well as in negotiations of economic adjustment programmes. She holds a PhD in economics and her academic interests focus on inequality and poverty, labour markets, as well as the design of social and tax policies.
Dr. Stavros Gavroglou
Special Expert at M.E.K.Y. and Scientific Coordinator of the Mechanism of Labour Market Diagnosis
Stavros Gavroglou is a political scientist and Special Expert at the Employment, Social Insurance, Welfare and Social Affairs Expert Unit (M.E.K.Y.) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. He is responsible for the Labour Market Needs Diagnosis Mechanism and represents M.E.K.Y. at the Central Council for Vocational Education and Training (K.S.E.E.K.). He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from Columbia University and a B.A. from Haverford College, and has taught political science, history, labour relations and constitutional law in the U.S. and Greece. His work focuses on labour-market analysis, working conditions, and skills and occupational trends.
