This talk highlights the importance of creating inclusive environments where every learner can build confidence, embrace their strengths, and take ownership of their educational journey. Drawing from real classroom experiences and powerful student stories, this session explores how we can honor diverse perspectives and foster spaces where all students are not just participants, but leaders of their own growth. It’s a call to action to champion equity, nurture self-belief, and unlock the full potential of every individual.

About the speaker

Katherine Reilly is an ELT author and teacher trainer based in Athens, Greece. She specializes in learner-centered teaching and has delivered numerous training sessions for the British Council International, the University of Athens, and multiple IATEFL SIGs. Known for her accessible and engaging approach, Katherine creates equity-focused materials that support students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. She has published extensively in ELT, children’s literature, and educational resources, and regularly trains educators in inclusive methodology. Katherine speaks at major ELT conferences worldwide, serves as an oral examiner, and shares her insights on equitable classroom practices through regular contributions to ELT News magazine.
