Ancient Greek II
This course continues and completes the introduction to the essentials of the Ancient Greek language begun in CL 1002 – Ancient Greek I. Reading and interpretation of excerpts from a variety of Greek texts; emphasis to the deeper layers of meaning by reading texts in the original language; teaching of ancient Greek grammar and syntax in such as way as to help students deepen their mastery of English too; exploration of etymologies and the cultural significance of words.
Prerequisites: CL 1002 Ancient Greek I or the first semester of another college level two-semester sequence of beginning Ancient Greek language. This requirement may be waived by permission of the instructor.
