Academic Writing and Research
A philosophical and interdisciplinary introduction to character education grounded primarily in Aristotelian and neo-Aristotelian virtue ethics. Examination of moral and intellectual virtues, practical wisdom (phronesis) and contemporary perspectives on human flourishing. Through philosophical inquiry and case-based analysis, students develop tools for ethical judgment, intellectual responsibility, and engaged citizenship in academic, professional, and civic life.

WP 1212
Academic Writing and Research
Advancement of writing skills developed in WP 1010 and WP 1111. Introduction of analytical skills central to academic research writing. Exploration of the research process and discussion of documentation styles. Exposure to disciplinary writing from various academic fields. Frequent writing and critical reading activities in addition to revised writing assignments of varying lengths and complexity. Sections vary in theme. This class will only be taught during semesters and Summer Term to ensure students have time to understand and practice research writing skills.
