An introduction to the methods and techniques in the microbiological analysis of foods. This lab provides students with skills to handle microbial cultures safely, estimate the microbial density in a sample, and examine the population and the effect of microorganisms in different food samples.
The course is designed for Nutrition and Dietetics students, life sciences majors, and students interested in learning more about food microbiology.
Corequisite: BMS 3220
