Career Days 2017 and Internship Recognition Event

Between November, 3-8, 2017, Career Days took place at Deree – The American College of Greece for the 42nd year in a row. This annual job and internship fair brings together company recruiters, students and recent graduates and serves as an occasion for all involved to discuss about the companies and the recruiting process. The students have the opportunity for a short interview for any current or future part time or full-time job openings as well as internships.

A record number of 97 companies participated this year, with 160 representatives and 25 ACG Alumni among their ranks, representing their companies and interviewing students.

With three days of company visitations, including a day dedicated to tourism and hospitality companies, there were ample opportunities for students to interact with representatives. Mock interviews with companies’ representatives from consulting companies Adecco Group, Cornerstone, EgonZehnder, KPMG, Manpower Group, Randstad, Sereti Angeliki and Associates also took place on November 3, to help students prepare for the actual interviews. On that same day students were introduced to Assessment Centers by Adecco and Linkage and practiced assessment tests.

In the context of Career Days, a seminar on Entrepreneurship & Innovation was organized for the first time, presented by Andreas Stefanidis, Co-founder and President at the Academy of Entrepreneurship and Accelerator Director at Aephoria.net.

Thanks to Deree’s strong engagement with local and international companies and its 53,000-strong network of alumni all over the world, Deree students enjoy increased possibilities to land a job suitable to their interests, studies, and talents.

On Monday, November 20, the Internship recognition event took place at Deree for the first time in honor of the students who completed internships and of the companies who offered these opportunities to our students. Over 100 students were honored for successfully completing Internships in leading companies in the fields of tourism, technology, automobile, communications, marketing, legal and financial services, among others.

The event was organized by the Offices of Career Services and Development and Alumni Relations, in collaboration with Student Affairs. Moreover, in the second part of that special evening, our students had the opportunity to interact and network with representatives from the above companies.

Many thanks to all the ACG alumni who were present and who helped make Career Days possible!
