Katia Lempesi (PIERCE ’66) passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015.
She was born in Athens in 1948. After graduating from PIERCE, she studied in the US.
In 1985 she acquired with her husband the publishing house ” Kedros’’ which she managed until recently.
In a statement about the loss of Katia Lempesi the former Deputy Minister of Culture, Marina Lambraki-Plaka said: “Katia Lempesi was a tireless fighter supporting the women’s movement, good quality books, good Greek literature, and quality of life,” adding that “she “embraced the responsibilities of the historic publishing house Kedros, and opened a new horizon for writers as well as for the world of reading in our country.”
