Where did the time go? It doesn’t seem like twenty years since the PIERCE Class of ’95 wore their caps and gowns and said goodbye to the school that nurtured them for so many years.

It seems like only yesterday to the more than 80 alumni who gathered for their June 12 Reunion at the PIERCE Theater and Lobby – an evening of reminiscing and celebration, as they caught up with old friends and faculty, and met new faculty and staff of PIERCE-The American College of Greece (ACG).

The evening began with a glass of wine as ACG staff welcomed alumni, and continued at the PIERCE Theater with a short video about The American College of Greece and a warm welcome by Carolina Bachariou, manager of ACG Office of Development & Alumni Relations, who also outlined developments at ACG. Ms Bachariou noted that despite the challenging times, ACG is faring well, helping students and their families cope with any financial problems and ensuring that high academic standards are maintained.

PIERCE Principal Olga Julius also welcomed alumni back on campus, adding how “proud” she is of all of them, and also outlined developments at PIERCE-ACG, including plans for the introduction of an International Baccalaureate, and numerous school successes.

PIERCE alumna Maria Laiou, president of the Class Student Council in 1995, also took the stage and presented an emotional video with photos from the Class of 1995, which received wide applause. Ms. Laiou closed her moving speech with: “Class of 1995 welcome back; it’s great to see you where you belong!”

Alumni then took a group photo, and moved on to the PIERCE Lobby, where they were able to enjoy a buffet with some nibbles and wine, as a DJ played popular tunes from the 90’s. All promised to meet up again soon, and loved their parting gifts: which included mugs with the PIERCE logo, ACG magnets, and… lots of new memories with old friends.

See you next time!
