Alumnae from the PIERCE Classes of ‘44, ‘54, ‘64 and Upper Division came together to reminisce about their school days on May 29 at the PIERCE campus, reconnecting with classmates 70, 60 and 50 years from their graduation!

“From the Class of 1944, we were extremely happy and moved to have alumnae Nantia Antonopoulou-Lanara and Christiana Lembessi-Papaeconomou attend the reunion – driven by the spirit of their alma mater that remains untouched even after so many decades,” says ACG’s Executive Director of Alumni & Parent Relations Manos Varouhas (DEREE ’91), adding, “all alumnae are nostalgically linked to the Hellenikon campus, while for many this was their first visit to the Agia Paraskevi Campus.”

ACG President David G. Horner, PIERCE Principal Olga Julius and ACG Executive Director of Development Mary-Irene Triantafillou (DEREE ’89) all welcomed the celebrating PIERCE alumnae and spoke of the strong links that bind alumnae.

“I was very happy to attend the reunion to see former classmates after 60 years, wondering whether I would be able to recognize them,” said PIERCE 1954 alumna Martha Kalothi-Sini after the event. “We caught up with each other; we exchanged news on what has happened in the last 60 years. What remained was a sweet and pleasant flavor in our hearts and minds. We promised each other to meet up again soon.”

Alumnae were encouraged to engage and support PIERCE students in these challenging times. They were informed about the initiative of alumnae from the PIERCE Class of 1973, who started a generational class giving fundraising event, launching their initiative at the Acropolis Museum in December, the enthusiastic turnout they had, and where funds raised will now support three PIERCE students in their studies during the following academic year.

Until the next reunion, here are some photos to keep the memories strong…
