George Panousopoulos (PIERCE ’99), an anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing specialist, is now Professional Services Manager, EMEA at the Wynyard Group in London, having been promoted from Solutions Consultant.

Mr Panousopoulos previously worked as VP – Head of Business Development, AML/CFT Group SYNTAX IT Inc and as Project Manager at EXUS (former EXODUS).

He graduated form PIERCE in 1999, and earned a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2004, followed by an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2005.

 


 

Recent appointment

Constantinos Stavropoulos (DEREE ’85), a Certified Management Consultant and founder of InnoValue, was recently appointed Member of the Professional Standards Committee (PSC) at the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI). His initial appointment will have a biennial tenure for the period 2014-2015. Mr Stavropoulos earned his BS in Business Administration – Management at DEREE, graduating in 1985, followed by his MBA from Washington State University in 1992.

 


Loukas Mexis (PIERCE ’01), author of the Flat Track, Shoot Me and Shoebox novels, has become a contributing editor at Greka Magazine and continues his work as editorial contributor to AskMen.com, amongst other editorial gigs – such as copywriting at Ogilvy & Mather.

Mr Mexis graduated from PIERCE in 2001 and earned his BS in Computer Science, Digital Systems from the University of Piraeus in 2011, followed by an MA in Communication and Media Studies from Murdoch University of Western Australia in 2013.

 


Pantelis Papageorgiou (DEREE ’93) has become a Non Executive Director at incadea Plc and continues as Partner at Elikonos GP, as Member at Globalscope Partners, while he is also a Founding Partner at First Athens Corporate Finance, and has also served as Chief Financial Officer at Velti -among other executive positions at several notable companies.

Mr Papageorgiou studied Accounting & Finance at DEREE, earning his BS in 1993, followed by an MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management in 1995.

 


Sonia Dimogli-Stathi (DEREE ’94) is the Marketing Director for Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Malta – and a Member of the Board of Directors at British American Tobacco (BAT) Hellas SA after holding senior executive positions at BAT in Amsterdam, Athens and Sofia as well as at Johnson & Johnson and The Coca-Cola Company in Athens.

Ms Dimogli-Stathi studied Management -Organizational Behavior at DEREE (BS ’94), before earning her MBA in International Marketing from the University of Hartford.

 


Eftychia Yiagou (DEREE ’94) is running for European Member of Parliament with the Independent Greeks party.

Ms Yiagou has several years of sell-side analyst experience with leading brokerage houses in Greece, such as Eurobank EFG, Telesis, Sigma, and Midland-Pantelakis, and has also served as Investor Relations Manager at Capital Link.

She earned her BS in Management – Organizational Behavior from DEREE in 1994, followed by an MSc in Investment Management from the Cass Business School in 1998.

 


Michael Katounas (DEREE ’96) is now Deputy CEO at QInvest LLC in Qatar, and also serves as Head of Investment Banking at QInvest LLC in Doha. Mr Katounas previously held senior positions at Credit Suisse in Dubai and London and at ABN AMRO in London.

He earned his BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE in 1996, and his BA in Public Administration from Pandeion University of Social & Political Sciences, also in 1996, followed by his MSc in International Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2000.

 


Evangelos Theocharis (DEREE ’97) is now Alliance Management Manager at Accenture in Prague, the Czech Republic, after being promoted from Global Engagement Lead Internal Clients, and previously Spend Management positions.

Mr Theocharis has also worked for nine years as Senior Management Consultant with Logicomm Consulting and has taught business at the University of Wales –British Hellenic College, at the University of Hertfordshire – IST Studies and at Teesside University – Mediterranean College.

Mr Theocharis earned his BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE in 1997, at the same time as earning his BS in General Business from the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus in 1996, followed by an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University – Cranfield School of Management in 1999, and a PhD from the University of Miami in 2005.

 


Ada Gianneskis (JUNIOR ‘97, DEREE ’99) takes on as Communications Manager at IKEA, House Market, for Greece, Bulgaria and Cyprus, having served as the section’s Marketing Manager for just over 13 years. Ms Gianneskis studied at Junior (’97) and at DEREE, where she earned her BS in Marketing in 1999. She received her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University in 2001.

 


Konstantinos Panagiotopoulos (JUNIOR ’04, DEREE ’05) is now Digital Compositor at Double Negative Visual Effects in London. Mr Panagiotopoulos’ specialties include photography, 3D animation and Compositing. He has worked on many projects worldwide, including World War Z and Snowhite and the Huntsman.

Mr Panagiotopoulos studied at JUNIOR and earned his BA in English from DEREE in 2005.

 


Danai Balta (DEREE ’02) has taken on as Marketing Communications Leader at Invista in Geneva, Switzerland after a series of executive positions at Procter & Gamble in Athens and Geneva. She studied Marketing at DEREE, graduating with her BS in 2002, and earned her MBA in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004.

 


Tassos Mikroulis (DEREE ’05), a noted actor, is now Senior Vice President at MHC Wellness Center of New York. Mr Mikroulis, originally from Chicago, has had several lead roles in movies and theater credits to boot, and works out of New York. He studied film, theatre and communication at DEREE, earning his BA in 2005.

 


Eirini Gkotzogianni (DEREE ’06) is now Associate Product Manager – International at the The Hygenic Corporation, after years at Levi Strauss Hellas, Nicead and First View, as well as Coca-Cola HBC.

Ms Gkotzogianni studied Business Administration at DEREE, earning her BS in 2006, followed by an MBA from the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) in 2008.

 


Athanasios Tsakardanos (DEREE ’10) has built his career at Coca-Cola Hellenic and has been promoted several times, this time to Key Account Manager FC.

Mr Tsakardanos studied Marketing at DEREE, earning his BS in 2010, followed by his MBA from ALBA in 2012.

 


Arsinoe Driva (DEREE ’10, ‘12) is now Junior Account Executive at 47 Purity Street after having worked as a PR Account Executive at Valuecom and work with the American College of Greece  – while studying at DEREE, including as a Summer Camp Counselor for several years.

She earned both her BA (English ’11) and her MA in Communications (’12) from DEREE.

 


Kyriaki Bakousi (DEREE ’12) is now Consumer Insights Consultant at IRI after several positions at DIAGEO around the world. Ms Bakousi earned her BS in Accounting & Finance from DEREE, graduating in 2012.
