Tonia Aroni (DEREE ’06), HR Associate Manager, Product Supply at Procter & Gamble (P&G) Greece presented the company’s International Internship Program to the DEREE student community on January 31st.

Aroni spoke about her career path, the challenges and opportunities she encountered, while she encouraged students to take advantage of all the support DEREE provides – i.e. Career Services, Counseling, Development & Alumni Relations, networking systems, and other services, and also advised them to listen, have a plan and be fearless.

“I was once on the same side of the room as you are today… My supervisors and the P&G leadership team were also on that side… they started as interns and now they head one of the largest corporations of the world… they had a dream, a goal and they went after it,” she told a rapt audience of over 70 students at the ACG Art Amphitheatre.

Dean of Students Natassa Rangou also addressed the students, outlining the particulars of ACG’s International Internship & Study Abroad Program (IISAP) and briefed students of new partnerships and on the progress of those students that began internships around the world in January with LIBRA, COCA-COLA, DIAGEO and S&B.

Dean Rangou encouraged the students to seize the opportunities the school provides.

Panos Yannoulatos, former P&G General Manager of Greece, founder and Honorary President of the P&G Alumni Association in Greece – currently offering Career Management/Outplacement coaching to executives – also attended the popular event. His ties to ACG are extensive, and include his wife, Maggy Yannoulatou (PIERCE ’62), his sons Nikos Yannoulatos (DEREE ’90)- Managing Partner at Cornestone Athens and Alexis Yannoulatos (DEREE ’93) – Owner/Managing Director @ Bluedolphins Hotel, while his grandson and namesake Panos Yannoulatos is now studying at PIERCE.

DEREE students are eligible to participate in the innovative IISAP program that enables highly qualified young men and women to spend a semester abroad in the US or UK studying at a partner institution followed (or proceeded) by a five-month internship at an international company.

The Program, begun with founding partner the LIBRA Group, now counts Coca-Cola, S&B, DIAGEO, Johnson & Johnson and Athenian Brewery (the last two offer semester abroad scholarships) as partners.
