Eirini Paraskevaidou

My name is Eirini, I’m 21 years old and a Communications Major at ACG. I’ve spent most of my life in Athens, but I’ve also lived in the USA, Spain, the Seychelles and Saudi Arabia. I dabble in a bunch of hobbies, like scuba diving, soccer and martial arts, but above all I’m an irremediable travel-junkie. I love exploring different cultures and meeting new people, which is a big part of why I applied to be an ACG peer. I’m enthusiastic about rediscovering my hometown and country through the eyes of students who share my Greek-American ancestry, and, even more, about introducing them to everything I love about living in Greece.

Amalia Flenga

My name is Amalia-Aikaterini Flenga, I am studying Law in the University of Athens and Sociology in the American College of Greece. I have also been practicing taekwondo for the last ten years, while in my free time I read crime novels as well as social and political theory and history. I really enjoy travelling as a means to communicate with different cultures and traditions and establish global links; thus, it will be an honor for me to meet Greek-American students, exchange ideas and experiences, compare lifestyles and have a great time in Greece!

Electra Pappa

My name is Electra and I’m a Theater major in a Greek University and a Psychology minor at the American College of Greece. One of my greatest passions is travelling and although I’ve spent most of my 23 years in Greece I’ve been mentally travelling a lot and physically as much as I can. I also have a huge love for food and exploring new tastes, so the ideal life for me would be eating my way around the world!

Antelina Tratarou

I am an Athens-Psychico College Alumna and a student in both National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where I study Law and Deree, The American College of Greece, where I pursue a minor degree in Economics. In the past I have worked for several magazines and newspapers, since I am keen on writing and enjoy communications and public relations a lot. My current occupation is an internship at the US Embassy in Athens. Moreover, I have plenty of personal experience in Summer Camps, as I have participated in both Summer Schools abroad (UK, Geneva) and in conferences (US) and I have also volunteered in similar Greek events (Sofiko, Athitaki), which demanded a high level of responsibility and devotion. I speak Greek, English, French, German, Spanish and I love traveling, meeting new people, places and cultures. I have a fondness for books and history and more than willing to transmit my enthusiasm to others and discuss life-changing experiences, such as Greek island excavations I have attended, with people who share similar interests. Music is my passion and I have also practiced many kinds of dances, including folk ones over the years and I will be more than happy to teach them! Finally, I am definitely an active sports person, open to challenges and new intriguing activities, which combined with cultural events will make this summer program an unforgettable and once in a lifetime experience!

Ksenija Kukic

Hello, my name is Ksenija (pronounced Xenia) and I’m a communications major at Deree. I am a Serb that was born in Cyprus and raised in Greece and I dabble in a few languages. Lover of all outdoor activities and sports like hiking, biking, walking, running, swimming, sailing, tennis, ping pong, volleyball and football to name a few. I’m also an avid reader of books and poetry. Also a dog-lover and in my free time I watch YouTube video compilations of ‘babies and puppies’.

I am Michael and I am from Athens. I am a parallel studies student. I study International Business at Deree and Ecology and Economics at Harokopeio University. Apart from my studies I enjoy playing music, traveling, hanging out with my friends and of course meeting new people. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!! We are going to have a blast!!

Apostolos Pappas

Hello everyone! My name is Apostolos Filippos Pappas but you can call me Apostolis. I am 18 years old and I have two brothers. I am a freshman at Deree College and my major is Finance. Also, I like going out with friends, watching movies and listening to music but what I mostly love is playing volleyball. Thinking positive is one of my major principles, so I try to face every obstacle in a positive perspective.

Alexia Silia Peza

My name is Alexia Silia Peza and I am studying Visual Arts at Deree College. I was born in Athens Greece and I graduated from American Community School of Athens (ACS). I enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people. I also like to discover new kinds of art around Athens, whether it’s a Gallery, a shop or street art. My heritage is also half from Thebes, but I have only been there a few times. Greek is my mother language and I speak English very well. Due to the fact that I finished ACS, I feel like I am part American, because I often catch myself thinking and expressing myself in both languages.

Elpida Bankously

My name is Elpida Bankously, I am 20 years old, and a Business student at Deree, The American College of Greece. I am currently working at a small family business of mine as an Operations Manager. Next year, I am going to be studying abroad in Nantes, France. I enjoy learning new languages, currently I speak, Greek, English, French and Arabic. Also, one of my hobbies for the last four years is Latin dancing. My friends and I created the Deree Latin Club, one of the most active clubs in Deree. I am more than excited for being a part of the Heritage Greece Program.

Ariadni Koutitsa

My name is Ariadne and I study Regional and Economic development at Panteion University of Athens, Greece with a minor in International Business at the American College of Greece.

I love writing stories, poems and songs. However my greatest passions are acting (Theater) and dancing! I had been taking dancing lessons (any type of dance) ever since I was 6 years old but this year I decided I wanted to play tennis. I also love music and travelling.

Ilianna Kapoutsou

My name is Ilianna Kapoutsou and I am 19 years old. I was brought up on the island of Paros situated in the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. All of my school years were spent on the island of Paros. Also, traveling the world has always been a dream of mine. In the past, I have visited Germany, France, Thailand and the United States. Moreover, on my free time I like to create and edit videos. I can’t wait to create a video with all the memories from the Heritage Greece program, this fascinating experience that is being offered to me by my college!

Alexandros Al-Akaila

Hello, my name is Alex and I’m 20 years old. I study theatre Arts at Deree and I have a big passion for theatre, basketball, soccer and traveling. I hope this experience will be even better with help by me and the fellow students of the Heritage Greece program. This will be a great experience for all of us. Can’t wait to meet you guys.

Vasileios Assimakopoulos

Vassilis-Antony Assimakopoulos is an Environmental Studies ACG student since September 2015. He is a graduate of the Greek Lyceum and during his school life he has participated in multiple activities as an individual, leader and as a team member. Being a member of the Young Volunteers in Action (YViA), from a very young age, he had the opportunity to participate in several projects that involved Non-Greek and Greek students. The projects were humanitarian and/or environmental. He has also participated in multiple educational programs that bring together people from different nations and have them collaborate to succeed in different objectives. Such projects were organized by Space Camp Turkey, Jean Michel Cousteau, the Hellenic Centre of Marine Life (HCML), Let’s do it Greece etc. In his free time he enjoys scuba diving, good cooking and music with his friends. Reading, researching and generally informing himself about breakthroughs and news on matters of the environment is part of his everyday life. He has also been trained as a rescuer and is a member of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Saronikos which has given him the opportunity to learn a lot about his area.

Dimitris Voutsas

I’m a first year student at Deree studying Healthcare Management, in parallel to Political Sciences and History at Panteio University, and when I found out about Heritage Greece, I leapt straight for it, seeing that it combines meeting new and interesting people, seeing fascinating new places whist rediscovering old ones, all while learning more about the country I hold so dear to me. I’m half British, half Greek, so finding out about my family has always been something incredibly interesting and contrasting at the same time, seeing how different the cultures are. It’s this passion that I have to learn about my roots that led me to apply for Heritage Greece, wanting to give to others the joy of finding out their family history. I’m no stranger to volunteering to help others; I am a first aid volunteer for the Hellenic Red Cross and until recently was a photography and volunteer co-ordinator for Global Volunteers (GloVo), so suffice to say, I enjoy helping where I can. At Deree I am involved with the Gaming Club, the Photography club and ACG Cares.

Nikolas Magoulas

Hello, my name is Nikolas (or Nikos for ease). I’m in the middle of a Psychology major and a Biology minor and I’m 23 years old. I love movies, videogames and all kinds of lazy stuff but I never turn down a good adventure. I love travelling, exercising and sports. I also enjoy meeting new people and I really want to study in the US in the future so I’m looking forward to meeting students from the US to learn more about life there as well as help them learn more about their roots and the culture and history of Greece!

Afroditi Mouchlianiti

My name is Afroditi Mouchlianiti, I am half Greek half Polish but I was born and raised in Greece. I am majoring in Psychology in Deree and I am finishing my studies in Shiatsu massage and Chinese Medicine. In Deree I am president of Self-Awareness & Meditation Club. My goal is to combine Psychology with Alternative Therapies and Meditation. I love playing the piano , painting, dancing. I have travelled a lot in my life and I fell in love with it. Mainly because I learn new ways of thinking and cultures, explore beautiful varieties of nature animals, last but not least meet new people . I look forward to participating in the Heritage Greece program because I will share my love for Greece with potential future friends.

My name is Christina and I’m a Communications major at Deree. I love playing sports, especially soccer and basketball. I am a team player and love traveling and meeting new people from different parts of the world. Lastly, I love watching TV shows and spending time with my dogs and my friends.

Rafail Kiloudis

My name is Rafail Kiloudis, I am 21 years old and my major is Information Technology. This is my 4th year in Deree and I have a very good time being part of this community. I like to travel a lot and visit new places. I enjoy meeting people from other countries and I find fascinating the fact that I learn things from their cultures. Also, I play volleyball which means that I like to be part of any kind of team.
