ACG student D. Asproulis selected as the 2014 Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies Summer Intern!

“Dreams made real” is the motto of DEREE and our students are the living proof of it! Dimitrios Asproulis, student of the DEREE School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, a DEREE scholarship recipient and Honors Program student, has been selected to participate in the Harvard University Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS) Summer Internship Program 2014. After his 5-week internship in the National Gallery of Nafplion, Dimitris will travel to Washington D.C. and Boston, to broaden his educational horizons and present the outcome of his internship. Another achievement, another dream made real. Congratulations, Dimitris!

Due to strong interest in the Heritage Greece 2014 Program, an unforgettable journey to Greece tailored to connect students with their Greek identity and roots through a cultural immersion experience, we are extending the application deadline.

The new application deadline is Friday, March 28.

The Heritage Greece 2014 Program (June 12 – June 29, 2014), developed by the National Hellenic Society (NHS) and hosted by the American College of Greece (ACG), is a gift from NHS to the selected candidates.

“The Shadow War: Espionage in Occupied Greece, 1941-1944” – A lecture by Dr André Gerolymatos

In an era of continuous changes in the political scenery, shedding light on unknown aspects of history is of great importance, in order to understand the present and shape the future. In this context, the Eleftherios Venizelos Chair of The American College of Greece is honored to present a lecture by Dr André Gerolymatos, Director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies, Professor of History and Holder of the Hellenic Canadian Congress of B.C. Chair of Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University.

Dr Gerolymatos will discuss the shadowy war of espionage in occupied Greece and its role in enhancing resistance against the Axis totalitarian rule.
