The course is for people who would like to add to their qualifications and find a job in the industry in Greece and abroad, using it either as an extra income or their main occupation.
The introduction of streaming platforms, such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and most recently Disney+, has created the need for subtitlers who work on numerous productions for each company. Entrance requirements: Participants will need to have a very good command of both English and Greek and good computer skills. A personal laptop is required for all sessions.
This course/seminar will touch upon every aspect of the particular industry and will be based on hands on practice that will accompany theoretical aspects of AV Translation. More specifically, the participants will be taught how to translate and do the quality assessment of comedy/humor, documentaries, series with terminology such as medical or legal, subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio description for the blind. They will also learn the theoretical background of each task and the technical specifications, as requested by the platforms and studios, with the aim to successfully complete and deliver a project.
