Emmanuel Vrontakis

Science and Mathematics

BS in Mathematics, University of Crete; MS in Pure Mathematics and PhD in Pure Mathematics, University of Patras

Dr. Vrontakis has been a member of the Deree Math area faculty since 2013, and has taught across the mathematics area curriculum. He currently teaches Finite Mathematics, Mathematics for Liberal Arts and Applied Calculus. He has also been a member of Pierce – The American College of Greece since 1998 and serves as Deputy Director of the Lyceum and IB DP Vice Director.

Dr. Vrontakis’ main professional/research interests are Differential Geometry, Hyperbolic Geometry, and Secondary Education. Numerous of his research papers have been published in scientific magazines. He has presented papers at various conferences, workshops and congresses, and has published his scientific work in numerous proceedings in Greece. He was awarded a graduate fellowship by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y.), for a PhD dissertation in pure mathematics. He participated in the research program “Konstantinos Karatheodory” of the University of Patras during the years 2001, 2002 and 2003. Finally, he was actively involved as a special expert in the revision of the mathematics syllabus for the last class of Lyceum (12th grade), by the Greek Ministry of Education, October 2014 – January 2015.
