Marina KolokonteEnglish and Modern Languages
Dr. Kolokonte has been a member of the Department of English and Modern Languages since January 2016. She has taught courses in the areas of linguistics, academic writing, TESOL and Greek as a foreign language. Her current teaching involves such courses as Discourse Analysis, Issues in Syntax, Introduction to Language, Modern Greek as a Foreign Language, Academic Writing and Research.
Her research interests include interlanguage pragmatics, the syntax and pragmatics interface and language processing in bilinguals. She is currently investigating L2 speakers’ knowledge of English verb phrase ellipsis and its implications for theories of second language acquisition.
She has previously taught linguistics at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University of Kent and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK.
