Katerina Weiss

Katharina Weiss is a member of the Modern Languages Faculty. With work experience from Switzerland, her country of origin, the USA, and Greece, she joined DEREE in 1991. Since then she has been developing and teaching a variety of basic and intermediate German language classes, as well as classes in German Literature in English translation. In addition, she has also been teaching in the Writing Program and has taught English for Academic Purposes.

Dr Weiss was the first Coordinator of the Modern Languages Area. She has been in charge of establishing the Peer Tutoring Center at the Deree AP campus, and served as the Coordinator of the Deree Writing Center. She has also served on various college committees.

Dr Weiss has also been active in the wider community of Athens. She has taught the course ‘History of the German Literature’ at the former EKEMEL, has directed a German Literary Circle for many years, and has presented works of German Literature on numerous occasions, mainly at the Greek-German Friendship Society ‘Philadelphia.’
