Anastasia Douka is a visual artist working with sculptural media. Douka holds an MFA, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC, USA) as a New Artists Society Trustees’ Merit Scholar and an MA in New Media & Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. She completed her BFA in Sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts as well as at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienna. She has been awarded the Toby Devan Fellowship, Chicago and the DESTE Prize, Athens. She has received study scholarships from the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation, the Pan. & E. Mihelis Foundation and the State Scholarship Foundation. She has been an invited artist in residence with Fondation d’ Entreprise Hermès in Residences VII, Paris, an alumni of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, ME, a resident at Yaddo Artists’ Colony, NY and has been selected to work with Manfred Pernice at the Salzburg International Summer Academy. She is currently a Fellow with Artworks at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Programme, Athens. Her works can be found in private collections and also in the collection of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens.
