Q.: What are three enduring lessons you learned during your studies at DEREE?

Hard work, hard work, hard work. In a society where speed is overpriced, we tend to believe that we can compromise on the accomplishments of hard work and our commitment to it.

Q.: Describe DEREE in three words.

International, professional, supportive

Q.: One of your favorite DEREE memories?

The beginning of each new semester.  It is nice to experience the sensation of the unknown.

Q.: What do you miss most from your days at DEREE?

The plethora of options in classes, professors, experiences and opportunities.

Q.: Where was your favorite spot on campus?

The library. I also loved the mountain corners behind the campus, but I am not sure I could share two favorite spots!

Q.: Who was your favorite professor and why?

Mrs. Laios – English teacher.  She taught me how to write proper business English.  Her advice still guides me today.

Q.: Have you kept in touch with any of your classmates?

Unfortunately, no! I have been traveling extensively, and, I must admit, the alumni group was not so active while I was living in Greece.  For the past several years, I have been living abroad, and, although I am connected in the virtual community, I do not have the chance to meet with the people face to face.

Q.: How did DEREE help prepare you for your professional life?

I was taught how to be professional, precise and focused.  Combining this with passion in what you do is the secret of being happy – and hopefully successful.

Q.: What's the greatest piece of advice you've ever received?

Dare to overcome your limitations.

Q.: What (or who) inspires you most?

My family. They offer me a safe harbor when everything else is unstable.

Q.: Your motto in life?

Don’t give up.
