The demanding role of HR in a turbulent business environment will be examined by experienced professionals at the conference "HR Realignment and Competitive Success". Advertising Revisited


DEREE will be hosting on December 14 the 11th edition of the Interactive Marketing Conference (IMC). Organized by IAB Greece, this year's IMC will focus on how brands and businesses adapt to the new reality redrawing the advertising map through teamwork. Christmas Spirit



The DEREE Student Choir will participate in a traditional singalong Charity Benefit performance of Handel's "Messiah" at St. Paul's Anglican Church (Fillelinon St. & Amalias Av.) on December 16, at 8 pm. Participation is 5 Euros and includes a glass of wine after the performance.

Crisis facing East



Prominent speakers participated in the two-day conference on "The European Financial Crisis and Developments in the East European Countries". Among them, Professor Vasilis Rapanos, Ms. Miranda Xafa, Professor Gikas Hardouvelis & the former Minister of Family and Population of Egypt Ms. Moushira Khattab. The conference was organized by the Institute of Diplomacy & Global Affairs @ the DEREE Graduate School and the European Alumni of the Woodrow Wilson Center.

The topic was not an easy or a pleasant one and yet the audience enjoyed the lively discussion between guest speakers Nikolaos Sofianos, President of Deloitte &

Touche, and Dimitris Katsibokis, Principal in the Financial Services Industry Group with Dimitris Lazopoulos from ACG's School of Business acting as moderator. Organized by the Accounting & Finance Department, the discussion on "Euro or Drachma? The Future of the Greek Economy" managed to clarify complicated financial terms which have become a part of our everyday life.

In the field

Τhis past summer ACG launched its first International Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM) internship for credit and the results were very encouraging as two students gained hands-on experience by working at the Aldemar Paradise Mare All-inclusive Hotel in Rhodes.

Free of Smoke

ex smokers

"If you stop, nothing can stop you" – so says the European Commission's campaign against smoking and the soccer game held on October 5 at DEREE's stadium definitely proved it right! The friendly match between a team of DEREE students and a team of anti-smoking ambassadors spread the message for a life without tobacco and was enjoyed both by players and spectators. ALBA Commencement 2012

Over 200 MSc and MBA degrees were awarded at the 2012 ALBA Graduation Ceremony which was held at ACG's PIERCE Theatre on October 11. This year's keynote speaker was Aristos Doxiadis, Economist and Venture Capital Professional, who offered a short list of business tips for this time of crisis and change. Read more.

Pharmaceutical Medicine Modules

The second series of modules on Pharmaceutical Medicine will commence on November 30. Organized by the Professional Studies of DEREE Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), the modules will be delivered by prominent speakers from the National Organization for Medicines (EOF), the European Medicines Agency, academics, experienced medical directors, etc. Read more.

The NYC Alumni Group is without doubt the most active: alumni recently met at the Crosby Bar in Soho where they had the chance to catch up on their latest work and life developments. The heart and soul of the Group is Christina Economou, an alumna who has honored her Volunteer Alumni Leader title.

Recipient of the first Vision Award, Rosina Ivanova, recent graduate of the Visual Arts Program of the DEREE School of Fine and Performing Arts, presented "Border House", her first solo exhibition in the Arts Center Gallery at DEREE, and is currently pursuing her MFA at the TransArt Institute in Berlin and New York City.
