The newly elected President of Delaware University, Dr. Dennis Assanis, payed a visit to our College on July 19. He met with President Dr. David G. Horner, and Vice President of Enrollment and Administration, Dr. Dimitrios Andreou.

This meeting was not down to luck though; Dr. Assanis’ wife, Eleni Assanis, is a Deree alumna of 1982. Hence the warm reception, where fond memories where shared and new foundations were set.

Dr. Assanis invited Dr. Horner to the University of Delaware to discuss a collaboration between the two institutions. Dr. Horner accepted the invitation and a first meeting took place, with a final meeting set to take place in February 2018 to finalize the student exchange program and consider other types of academic collaboration.

From its roots as a private academy in 1743, the University of Delaware is a research-intensive, technologically advanced university with global impact. The university has a strong tradition of distinguished scholarship, research, teaching and service that is grounded in a commitment to increasing and disseminating scientific, humanistic and social knowledge for the benefit of the larger society.
