ACG at the ‘Youth, Skills & Employability’ Conference

Dedicated to our mission of providing promising youth with access to such opportunities, we participated in the 2015 Youth, Skills, and Employability Conference, featuring presentations from representatives of Adecco, Nestle, ReGeneration, Athenian Breweries, Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki, and many more. The conference was organized by Boussias Communications and HR Professional.

This conference gave companies and universities the opportunity to showcase the targeted initiatives they have developed and implemented to help combat the grave youth unemployment crisis Greece is facing.

Our own Marina Perantonaki, Manager of the Office of Career Services at DEREE, gave her presentation on “From Studies to Employment” and spoke about the origins of the ACG community, the full academic and extra-curricular experience available at PIERCE, DEREE, and ALBA, and offered the audience a glimpse of the DEREE advantage:

Ms. Perantonaki was also joined at the conference by Dr. Olga Epitropaki, professor at ALBA Graduate Business School, who holds the Stavros Costopoulos Chair in Human Resource Management and Development. Dr. Epitropaki, with years of experience in organizational psychology and HR management presented on “Enhancing Youth Employability: A study on critical competencies, facilitators and obstacles.”

Dr. Epitropaki conducted her study along with Dr. Christos Koritos, Assistant Professor of Marketing, and Academic Director of ALBA’s MSc in Marketing. An initiative of Citi Greece and funded by Citi Foundation, their research contributes to the dialogue on youth employability in Greece and to the available body of knowledge, by providing valuable empirical data, actionable knowledge, and policy suggestions.
