PIERCE Receives the British Council’s International School Award

An impressive accomplishment from the world of PIERCE, as the school received the Full Accreditation of the British Council’s International School Award (ISA) which is an internationally acknowledged certification. The ISA is awarded in recognition of the school’s commitment to developing global citizenship in young people and puts the school on the map by helping embed international learning into the curriculum.

The ISA framework assesses each school on the following areas:

  • Staff Development – training and professional development, and how the school helps its staff prepare for international work
  • Collaborations with Partner Schools – including projects, activities, communication
  • Global Learning – curriculum-based work across a range of subjects
  • Involvement of the Wider Community – parents, businesses, social projects

The ISA full accreditation award is effective for 3 years (2015-2018) and was gained by PIERCE successfully submitting evidence of international activities and their impact on the school.
