Kronman

ACG Trustee Dr. Anthony Kronman, who gave the commencement speech at PIERCE-The American College of Greece this year, and was also on hand for the DEREE commencement ceremony, gave a fascinating interview to To Vima Sunday newspaper, which was published on July 12.

Conducted during a very difficult time for Greece with the recent imposition of capital controls, Dr. Kronman, an enthusiastic philhellene, discusses Greeceā€™s European identity and the hopes of its youth, which he finds very optimistic and steadfast in their desire to stay in the country and help it rebuild.

Anthony T. Kronman, BA, PhD, JD, joined the ACG Board of Trustees in 2009. He is Sterling Professor of Law at Yale Law School. A former Dean of Yale Law School, Professor Kronman teaches in the areas of contracts, bankruptcy, jurisprudence, social theory, professional responsibility, and Directed Studies. Among his books are Education’s End: Why Our Colleges and Universities Have Given Up on the Meaning of Life; Max Weber, Contracts: Cases and Materials (with F. Kessler and G. Gilmore), and Lost Lawyer. Professor Kronman is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He received his BA from Williams College and his Ph.D. in Philosophy and JD from Yale.
