Chrysanthos Panas (DEREE ‘96), the entertainment guru of Athens, and his brother Spyros, have a new project: the transformation of downtown Athens through the stylish upgrade of three recently-purchased establishments, the historic café Patisserie Zonar’s – which they hope to restore to its former glory days, when intellectuals frequented its tables – the City Bistro Restaurant and City Bar in downtown Athens’ City Link area, now considered the supreme theatre district of the capital.
According to Proto Thema newspaper, the brothers aim at transforming the adjacent Voukourestiou street into the Greek Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, where fashion houses mix with high gastronomy in a modern, European atmosphere.
The brothers are well known for their creative genius and through the Panas Group own and manage the Island Club & Restaurant, the private members’ club Salon de Bricolage, as well as Island Art & Taste, which offers five event and conference facilities.
The company is now focusing on the creation of new catered spaces as well as hotel management.
Chrysanthos Panas earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing- Management at DEREE, graduating in 1996.
