The Reunion of the PIERCE Classes of ’74, ’84, ’94 was a big success, with close to 200 people descending on the PIERCE Theatre on May 16th to celebrate 40, 30 and 20 years from graduation, respectively!

“The reunion was an excellent opportunity for alumni to come back to campus after several years, but also an opportunity for a cross-generational exchange of memories from school years and networking too,” notes Manos Varouhas (DEREE ’91), ACG’s Executive Director of Alumni & Parent Relations, adding “we are very happy with the big turnout and the wonderful stories that were shared.”

From the class of 1974, alumna Katerina Michaelidou addressed alumni sharing memories from her high school years:

“Here we are once again all together, full of memories, trying to find our way again to the corridors of the school that offered us six marvelous years of high education, friendship, idealism and respect for each other. PIERCE College, we still remember,” she concluded.

From the class of 1994, Kostas Maniatis, now Office Manager at Consilium Marine Hellas Ltd, asked alumni to promise that they will all attend the next reunion in 10 years!

“I consider myself very lucky and proud to have been a student at PIERCE College, my lovely school, and regarding the arrangements for this decade’s class reunion – I strongly believe it was a big success!” he said after the event, adding, “I am also very happy that I met a lot of my fellow alumni, and we had an emotionally wonderful night – really unforgettable.

“I would like to thank the Office of Development & Alumni Relations, and Mr Manos Varouhas in particular, for the success of the special night, as well as our lovely professors, and everybody who attended!”

From the Class of 1984, Christina Lassou, who travelled from London on the occasion of the reunion, together with Lena Triantogiannis, expressed their gratitude for the education they received at PIERCE.

Alumnae from the PIERCE Class of 1973 also took to the podium to share their experiences: Kathy Parthimou-Paraschi, Acropolis Museum Trustee and Member of the Board, and Aspasia Mihailidou, Head of Doctors Without Boarders, encouraged attendees to engage and support PIERCE students in these challenging times. They also talked about their initiative to start a generational class giving fundraising event, the fundraiser they held at the Acropolis Museum in December which launched the initiative, and the enthusiastic turnout they had. They called on all classes to join their efforts and announced that the funds they raised in December 2013 at their fundraising event will support three PIERCE students during the following academic year.
