About

Heritage Greece is an unforgettable educational and cultural program designed to connect college-aged, Greek-American students with their Greek heritage and identity.

Heritage Greece was developed by the National Hellenic Society as part of its mission to celebrate and preserve Greek heritage in the United States. The Heritage Greece program is hosted by The American College of Greece, located on a 65-acre modern, safe and beautiful campus in a suburb of Athens, that was home to 2004 US Olympic team.

Program Details

Heritage Greece is a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Greek heritage, culture and identity with a peer group of students from the US and Greece. Students learn language skills within the context of modern Greece. Site visits include important archaeological locales, island and other site visits and activities that facilitate strong connections with students’ Greek roots and identity.

The students will be hosted at ACG’s modern residence facility just two blocks from campus in the suburb of Aghia Paraskevi, located on forested foothills just six miles away from the city center.

The Heritage Greece experience does not stop in Greece but continues after the students return as each student becomes a part of the Heritage Greece alumni network.

The NHS will continue to play a role in the lives of Heritage Greece students through programs that will assist them to become ambassadors of our heritage and will guide them in the development of their professional careers through the extensive Heritage Greece alumni network.

Heritage Greece is an opportunity to forge relationships with students and others that last a lifetime!
