Resources

The DEREE Libraries offer numerous resources accessible via the Resource Tabs in the libraries’ homepage:

Library Catalog

Use the Library Catalog to find books, course reserves and audiovisual material.

Books can be searched for by title, author, subject or all three at once (which is the default). You can also browse titles, authors, subjects and call numbers as well as build more complicated searches.

For additional information consult our tutorial on how to find books.

Course reserves are materials set aside by an instructor for the students of a particular class. You can locate them in the catalog by course number (e.g., EN 1111) or instructor name (e.g., Papas). Request this material at the Circulation Desks by providing the call number you find in the Library Catalog.

For additional information consult our tutorial on how to find course reserves.

Audiovisual material includes DVDs, videos, films, CD-ROMs and audio CDs. They can be found at the Media Center (in the John S. Bailey Library) or the Circulation Desk (in the Downtown Campus Library).

Research Databases

The Research Databases provide access to a wealth of information that is not available on the free Internet. Search the research databases for full-text articles and citations from scholarly as well as popular journals and newspapers; business reports; statistics; encyclopedia articles; digital images and more.

These databases are arranged by subject and type.

Many of the research databases are available off-campus.

Journals A-Z

Journals A-Z lists all the periodicals that DEREE Libraries subscribe to, whether in electronic, print, or microfilm format, and indicates where they are located.

You can search the Journals A-Z list by periodical title, publisher name or ISSN. If the periodical is available in one of the research databases a hyperlink leading to it will appear below the periodical title.

This is a very useful tool when you’re looking for a specific article.
