Faculty, staff, students, journalists, and other guests braved the rain and came to the opening of the 2015 Arts Festival on campus Friday evening – admiring the exciting art on exhibit at the Beauty is the Method group show at the ACG Art Gallery – which kicked off the festival.
On hand was Sotirios Bahtsetzis, the curator of the group exhibit and the artists themselves who met with the guests and discussed their work – which includes paintings, installations, photos, and video.
Beauty is the Method is on show until April 30 and presents works by Nikos Alexiou, Athanasios Argianas, Dimitris Baboulis, Dionisis Christofilogiannis, Chryssa, Vasso Gavaisse, Vassilis Gerodimos, Nick Ervinck, Dimitris Foutris, Chris Gianakos, Zoe Keramea, Kornelios Grammenos, Rowena Hughes, Hope, James Lane, Hiroshi MacDonald Mori, Giorgos Maraziotis, Eleanna Martinou, Dimitris Merantzas, Michael Michaeledes, Nina Papaconstantinou, Nikos Papadopoulos, Aemilia Papaphilippou, Joulia Strauss, Stefania Strouza, Thanassis Totsikas, and Kostis Velonis.
Visiting hours: Monday – Wednesday – Friday: 13:15 – 17:00; Tuesday-Thursday 13:30 – 15:00; Saturday 11:00 -14:00 or by appointment. The gallery will not be open during Easter recess April 3 – 19.
DEREE’s 2015 Arts Festival is free and open to the public and runs through March 22, featuring exciting cultural events – such as concerts, dance and theatre performances by artists from around the world, as well as lecture performances, masterclasses and workshops by DEREE faculty and guests.
The 2015 Arts Festival is being organized by the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts at DEREE-The American College of Greece.
