Vassilia Stefanou has been a member of the Deree Management Information Systems faculty since 1996, and has taught across the curriculum. She currently teaches Human-Computer Interaction, Business Information Systems, Data Management and IT for Business, and Introduction to Information Systems, and she is an active member of the Deree academic community.

Professor Stefanou has participated in various research projects and has published papers in distinguished journals. She is also currently working part-time towards a distance learning PhD in e-research and Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University, U.K. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, the areas of Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, e-learning, blended learning, and technology enhanced learning (TEL).

She serves as advisor to the Women in Technology and Science (WiTS) club.
