BSc Economics with specialization in Industrial Issues, University of Piraeus; MSc Economics with specialization in Applied Economics and Finance, Athens University of Economics and Business; PhD Finance, University of Piraeus.

Dr. Panagiotis Asimakopoulos has been a member of the Accounting and Finance Department since 2016. He has taught undergraduate and graduate finance and economic courses on topics such as: corporate finance, financial mathematics, mathematical economics, investment, financial modeling, and financial accounting.

His research interests principally concentrate on the area of corporate finance and payout policy. Other primary areas of academic interest are Mergers and Acquisitions, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), and Macro-finance.

Dr. Asimakopoulos’ research has been presented in several national and international conferences, and published in highly ranked peer-reviewed international journals in Finance, including: The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA), and The Journal of International Review of Financial Analysis (IRFA). Currently, he also serves as a research associate at the University of Piraeus, in the Department of Banking & Financial Management.
