Efimia Anastasiou

Effie Anastasiou has been a member of the Deree Accounting and Finance faculty since 1990, and has taught across the Accounting and Finance curriculum. She specializes in accounting courses, including Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Advanced Accounting and Financial Planning and Control.

Effie is presently pursuing a PhD at the University of Derby in the Business, Computing and Law Department, with a research focus on accounting education, linking accounting curriculum (skills) with market needs. Her other area of interest is in cost accounting where she has also worked as a consultant for a steel construction company.

Effie has served as Head of the Department from 2008 – 2012 and was a valued member of the team which steered DEREE School of Business during the OU validation under Associate Dean Sinanoglou. She has also received two “Faculty Awards” for recognition of her services by the DEREE Student Union in 1996 – 1997 and 2002 – 2003.
