Deree College of The American College of Greece is the oldest and largest private American-sponsored college in Europe. ACG has an expansive curriculum and all the resources you expect of a major institution of higher education. As a student studying abroad for a semester or a year, you can choose courses from ACG's undergraduate programs in 16 disciplines in business and the liberal arts. You will find the study abroad course selection at ACG among the most expansive in Europe. And your courses will be taught by ACG's prestigious faculty in a dynamic small class setting.

Your experience begins with selecting courses that are of interest to you and fit within the academic requirements of your home institution. You can choose from a multitude of courses - all taught in English - in most major fields of the liberal arts and business. Study abroad students are welcome to register for most regularly scheduled courses offered at Deree College, ACG's undergraduate college.

Accredited in the United States

Deree College of The American College of Greece is fully accredited in the United States by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Credits earned in our traditional semester system may be transferred back to your home institution depending on their course transferability policies.

Beyond the classroom, you will find a vibrant student culture in a truly international campus.  As one of the most prestigious private universities in Europe, ACG draws students from Greece and 40 other countries. Ninety-five percent of our students come from outside the United States. Discuss world history, economics, or even music with classmates from around the world.

ACG's administrative staff is committed to making your study abroad experience enjoyable and worry-free from the moment you apply. Our staff will guide you through the visa process, work with your home-campus academic advisor to select and register you for appropriate courses, and give you a full orientation to The American College of Greece and the Athens area. We even provide transfers to and from the Athens airport!

Excursions throughout Greece

ACG study abroad students have the opportunity to participate in excursions throughout the storied land of Greece. Just a short ride from campus you can visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon, Poseidon's temple at Cape Sounion, as well as the bustling seaside port of Piraeus and the surrounding island beaches. You can explore one of the world's most beautiful and culturally thrilling countries - Greece!

How do I begin?

To start, you can apply for the study abroad program online at http://www.acg.edu/acg/apply-now.html where you will find complete instructions. Just complete the application, have your college/university transcript forwarded to us, and ask your study abroad advisor or a faculty member to write a letter of recommendation.

Once we receive all the application materials, our student visa expert will guide you through the Greek visa process.
