The American College of Greece - Colleges and Special Programs - In BriefFounded in 1875, in Smyrna, Asia Minor, College Divisions - Degrees - Special Programs PIERCE COLLEGEPierce College is a Greek-speaking gymnasium-lyceum (junior high and senior high school). The motto of the College - "Non ministrari sed ministrare". "You are not here to be served but to serve" -defines the character and work of the College. To succeed in its effort to educate young people, Pierce College believes that there should be a uniform and consistent policy among teachers in dealing with problems in schooling and that, since the family plays an important role in the child's development, close teacher-parent cooperation is essential. DEREE COLLEGEDeree College, the undergraduate division of The American College of Greece, is an independent college accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges offering English-speaking bachelor's degree programs in arts and sciences and in business. Deree College continues our long heritage of providing outstanding instructors, small class size, superb facilities, and our commitment to excellence. Deree College has two campuses, one located in Aghia Paraskevi, a northeastern suburb of Athens, the other, Downtown campus, located near the business center of Athens. THE JUNIOR COLLEGEThe Junior College was established in 1994 and is located at the Downtown campus. Its two-year program offers associate degrees in the liberal arts and in business that permit graduates to continue toward the completion of a bachelor's degree at Deree College, to transfer to other four-year institutions, or to enter the workforce better qualified. GRADUATE SCHOOL - THE MBA PROGRAMThe American College of Greece is offering a limited number of high quality selective programs at the graduate level. First among these is The MBA Program which started in January 2004. Students have the opportunity to take courses in state of the art classrooms on the Colleges' Ag. Paraskevi campus, with ample parking in a climate controlled environment. The program is specifically designed to offer students a modern, global and relevant education which will enable them to add value to their organizations immediately. The School for Continuing and Professional Studies The American College of Greece established the School for Continuing and Professional Studies in June 2001 in order to serve the community by extending the resources of the College to meet the lifelong learning and professional needs of individuals and organizations. The American Studies Seminar Organized annually and jointly by The American College of Greece, the United States Embassy and Panteion University, the seminar affords a comprehensive picture of the United States through the examination of domestic trends and events that have influenced American society. Summer Camps - Θερινά Προγράμματα The goal of our camps is to provide boys and girls a fun and educational experience in a safe and well-supervised environment. A variety of activities are designed to give those who attend our camps the opportunity to enrich both body and mind while gaining self-confidence through their achievements. Το Αμερικανικό Κολλέγιο Ελλάδος διοργανώνει από το 1987 θερινά προγράμματα για παιδιά. Με τον τρόπο αυτό δίνει την ευκαιρία σε αγόρια και κορίτσια ηλικίας 6-14 ετών να ασχοληθούν με τον αθλητισμό και να αναπτύξουν δεξιότητες παρακολουθώντας εικαστικά και εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα. |
